2002 Dec 04 saga of the missing packages

I'm irritated with the Post Office. One would think that they would let us know that they were holding 3 packages and loads of mail for us while we were on our honeymoon. But no.

I had several email conversations with the cooking.com customer service representative about our missing wedding registry packages. You see, our wedding registry said certain items were purchased, but we never received them.

Several days and emails later, the rep finally tracked down the "tracking numbers" and told me that they were being held at the Post Office and that we might want to call them and see if they were still there.

M went through several phone trees at two different phone numbers to find out that, yes, the packages were there. Thank heavens, is what I say! Because if they had returned them to sender, things would have gotten ugly.

Since M worked from home yesterday, he was able to trek all the way to Sunset Station to pick up the loot.

No thanks for telling us, USPS!

Last night was like Christmas. As well as wedding gifts, we also had a package from our wine club containing two bottles of scrumptious-looking reds. Nice!

This week has been rough. We've been out late every night. Monday being Date Night, we went to dinner in Japantown then saw the new Harry Potter movie. Last night, we had dinner with friends at our favorite restaurant and saw their new home, which they've been renovating. I'm jealous because their house is HUGE! Meanwhile, we're living in a cramped, cluttered box.

Tonight is yoga, but I plan to speed home after class and get some intensive snoozles.

Otherwise, there's always tomorrow....
